on: November 05, 2015, 07:34:23 PM
Just messin' around on my grandma's piano... it hasn't been tuned in nearly 50 years! :) Well now you know what it sounds like, if a piano is left to "decompose"... ;D

actually... it's not that bad---- relatively speaking---I have heard way worse..  Sounds like the action is pretty slappy... that makes for good boogie woogie

Yes, it doesn't sound that off, but that's because the strings pretty much went out of tune together. Listen to the real F Major... I think my Grandma's piano is around D major... HAHA

I know. Why did you say that?

I know. Why did you say that?
It means you destroyed the music; and as a result, your grandmothers' soul.

How did I destroy it by playing it 10 BPM under the marking?

You destroyed it in deeper ways than that.

fun fact; there is no marking! Bach didn't do that stuff.
Or maybe you think Presto is what it says on the metronome: 168-200 or something like that. I don't think there was any harm in playing it at your tempo though. It was pretty good.

Presto is 138-168. I am at almost exactly 140. And that's pretty much what Schiff plays too.

And Emily, I was just messing around. It was a first try. If I were to make it a real recording, I would do it on my piano, with my recorder, and I would probably try a few times before I was satisfied.

Wasn't this thing you played on your grandmother's piano a Debussy Etude?  ::)

Precisely, Debussy Etude #1?  ::)

Sheesh I was being sarcastic.
And yes, I've listened to all of the etudes.
