First time Piano lessons!

Hello to everybody.
I have decided to at least try and approach my dream of learning piano.
My given facts are that:

I am already a mediocre self taught musician ( I play some guitar and greek bouzouki)
I have an ok musical ear (I often learn songs by ear) but do know some basics of reading music.
I have a passion for jazz.
I lastly have a passion for the simple sound of the piano.

Do you think a as novice I have hope starting now at 25?
I would love to learn some of my favorite songs (simple jazz, nothing special), do you think I could find a teacher to do this and it would be beneficial?

Best bet is to search the forum. Even recently a few new users have asked exactly the same question as you.

You seem to have already answered your own question and seeking support in your thoughts.

In a nutshell, You already have some musical background, you do have a musical ear, you have a passion for music and the piano, and you're goals are realistic - Not learning anything technically superior but some pieces you enjoy.

I would definitely recommend anybody at any level to consider a piano teacher as it will certainly do no harm, however finding the right teacher for you can be a big deal depending how in depth you want to learn, eg scales, music theory, piano exams etc.

Most first lessons offered by teachers are usually free, make the most out of finding out their background, their teaching methods, how they can help you, and what you can expect.
