J.S. Bach - Italian Concerto (3. Presto) WIP
on: November 20, 2015, 05:05:53 AM
Just another work in progress. This one has been a rock in my driveway for a while, and I'm really trying to iron out some rough patches. That said, I cut the recording short b/c I kept failing at the tricky left-hand-double-voice-while-the-right-hand-trills-and-changes-fingers part. But there are multiple members who have PM'd me asking for me to post this, so here it is. The first half. Or I guess a little more than half. ;)

It's really hard, but not quite as hard as Chopin's prelude 16. I think ABRSM nailed it when they gave prelude 16 8/9 and this concerto 7.5/9. Please take a moment to let me know what you think!

P.S. I just realized that I had a major tempo change in the middle. Whoops. I guess that's why you record yourself, right?! :) I will be sure to post the whole thing when I'm done with it.

Not bad at all for a wip :)

I don't have much helpful advice to offer you except for what you already know, work more on the left hand.

@mjames & deandeblock

Thank you, friends!

@outi

I know, I do need to work on my left hand. Ever since I got done with 25/6, my right hand has been 50% better than my right. I'm going to begin work on 10/12 or something that will get my left hand up to part as well. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Not sure playing Chopin etudes is the answer...I'd say just play more Baroque but focus on the left hand as being just as important as the right.

My left used to be good compared to my right, but lately I have been practicing too much romantic stuff and neclected my Scarlatti and that is starting to show...now they are both bad :(

All right so I recorded the full thing today, and stuck a camera on it with my homemade camera mount. The lighting is sweet b/c of the window light with fresh fallen snow!

Wow, Noah, that sounds great! And very hard too. Very fine job! Your fingers are so fast you can hardly see them move - which is a great sign.
I love fast pieces. It does not sound serious and right but it is that way. Am I ever gonna grow out from loving fast pieces? ;D

Thanks Kawai cs!! And I love fast pieces also. My favorite Chopin preludes are #8, 12, 16, 19, and 24. I've said many times before,

Am I ever gonna grow out from loving fast pieces? ;D

Haha anyway thanks a ton for the reply. :D
