Still improving.  Some errors...  but I figured I post a video to get some feedback since it's been a while since I recorded anything.

You've got all the notes! Now you just have to take away some of the mechanicalness. A good starting point would be the left hand throughout the piece - it is mostly played the same way. Try to find some variance!

oh I love this one...  good job :)     that third section is a bit tricky as is the fourth. I have been playing the Joplin rags for almost 40 years now...  learn it correctly because you will play it for the rest of your life.... people love ragtime.   Lighten the pressure a bit on your LH and a lot of that "cachunk a clunk" will disappear from the stride pattern.

I would like you to post another video of this one in a month or two...  bet it's gonna rock :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I've definitely noticed that cachunk a clunk on my LH.  I've been told by a few people to also lighten the banjo.  I've been working on fixing that.  I'll revisit this piece but now I'm onto finishing up the Pine Apple Rag.  I think the Pine Apple is a more difficult rag.

what part are you having trouble with?   I always found the PA easier the EW...but that doesn't really mean anything...  I like the PA more than EW...   it just feels cooler in the hands I think..      I play the rags because of the movie the Sting which made many ragtime players out of pre-adolescent kids... but that was a long time ago... :)

It could be that I'm still working on it but the B section has some odd hand stretches and jumps.  Overall, PA rag seems to have more jumps.  I've been struggling with the C section timing...  and keeping it softer... I have a tendency to want to belt out everything.  I have it all memorized except the D section now.  Then it's a matter of cleaning it up I guess.

Then after that I'm moving on to the Champagne Rag.

After the first section, the rhythm/tempo gets tentative almost like not you are not sure if you should play it a little faster or a little slower.  If you can cut and paste sections of the recording and play them next to each other, you might find good feedback for yourself by listening to a snip from the beginning, a snip from the middle, and from the end section. Not saying it all has to be exactly the same tempo but it might be helpful.  Plenty of room for improvement, but well done so far
