VIDEO: Prelude No. 3 (Allegro diabolico)
on: December 01, 2015, 03:03:06 AM
This is the third prelude from my set of Nine Preludes for Piano Solo. (I've posted the first two in past threads and eventually plan to get the whole set recorded.) Where most of the other works I've offered here have tended toward lyricism and soaring Romantic melody, this one is in a different vein, as the Allegro diabolico marking suggests. This isn't diabolism in the sense of spine-chilling terror, but rather playful mischief. In fact, I was originally hoping to get it recorded in time for Halloween, so you might think of this post as a kind of belated visitation by goblins and trolls.
IMO this lively little piece would make a very nice encore. I've also created a "score video":
Currently, the score for the whole set of nine preludes is available through AJ Long's website:

I like your writing, you are very talented great job. There is a lot of room for expression/interpretation with your prelude which makes it seem a very enjoyable piece to play.
