Pianists' Ideals of Beauty
on: December 07, 2015, 02:06:52 AM
Hey,
Do pianists have different ideals of beauty than non-pianists? (i. e. architectural beauty, floral beauty, human beauty, artistic beauty, mathematical beauty, etc.)

You are a pianist of some sort, aren't you? Have you asked yourself this question?

Or did you mean just professional pianists? At what point in their  development do they become different? When they start earning money on their playing? Does it come from their teachers maybe? Or are they just born with it?

In short: No.

On the other hand, if we talk about classical pianists, they have a passion for music that 95% of the world's population does not give a d*** about. So, if you like classical music, you are already a bit special. This does not automatically imply, though, that your taste in architechture is different from others ...

You could say... It's all black and white, right?
