Thanks for posting this very witty salute to Beethoven. I once did my own series of Happy Birthday Variations and, of course, couldn't resist tampering slightly with the Moonlight Sonata. However mine was shorter (although nearly identical in some respects) and probably not quite as clever. As many will recall, Leonid Hambro sometimes appeared with Victor Borge as his partner in some very funny piano-based routines (could one have been the Liszt/Fliszt Hungarian Rhapsody #2?) and hearing this delightful morceau, it's obvious that he didn't have to depend on Victor to be funny.
