Left Hand Pattern Question-please help

Hey everyone,

As you know I never would bother you all with this question, but my piano teacher is not responding and I have lessons soon with her. My question surrounds the left hand pattern 158910.
.
 For the 158910 pattern-- is ''5''  the fifth note of the scale. So for example, for the C scale 158910 pattern, number five would be G (fifth note from the Root position C).

And for Am ''5'' would be E . . . the fifth note from the root (A).

I had a full load but she wanted me to give these patterns a few tries, nothing too big for next lesson, so after practicing my other work for so long, I just forgot about this and am now in your debt,
