Looking for Fugue Teacher
on: December 30, 2015, 04:59:17 PM
Greetings everyone!

I need help and I was hoping somebody could help. I have a strong background in counterpoint and music theory, for years I have been searching for somebody to help me learn how to a write fugues. All the teachers qualified at my conservatory have always been too busy to offer private tutorial.

If somebody has a deep and intensive of not just how fugues work, but how to write them and how to critique a student and guide them to being able to write competent fugues, then I will pay well for weekly or even bi-weekly lessons via skype or in person if you live in Los Angeles.

The content would be weekly or bi-weekly homework assignments in writing, going over the composition in our session and editing it to be better and instilling a deeper understanding of fugual mechanisms.

If this doesn't apply to you, but somebody you know, please ask them too!

Can you take a counterpoint class at the university? I know when I went to college you could take classes even if you weren't matriculated... Or just sit in the class if the prof will let you?
