A Burglar's Night, Piano and violin duet (original)
on: December 30, 2015, 09:33:42 PM
I have written this piece while imagining a Burglar stealing a house
-the staccato chords played by the piano evoques the quiet steps of the burglar
-The tempo and dynamics changes of the piece suggest the evolution of the burglar's dangerous walk
-the cyclic form of the piece gives an idea of the ending of the story ...
Critics and suggestions are welcome !

..You are aware that most violinists can't play octaves due to the limitations of their instruments, and the difficulty of bowing, correct?

Sorry, I was a bit dickish in my first comment.
However, you do need to keep in mind instrument ranges. Your piano part is decent, albeit mostly accompaniment, but the violin does things that the piano can't, and vice versa. You typically only have one line for violins, which is why orchestras have lead violinists, second violinists, third, fourth, and more depending on what you're playing (a Chopin concerto is much different in its requirements than a Mahler symphony).

GONE OVER YOUR COMPOSITIONS at YT and I must say you are TALENTED
and have much potential.  Although I cannot help relate your Epic 1 & 2
to be Hans Zimmer-like and would make a fine movie theme. Thanks
Keep it up....
