Rare Sheetmusic
on: December 25, 2004, 01:30:16 PM
I don't know if this is the proper  area for this post, but I am looking for a piece of rare sheetmusic.  It is Till Eulenspiegel by Richard Strauss, arranged by Edouard Risler for solo piano.  Does anyone have any information as to where to find this score?

I shop at Burt and Company (online) for my sheet music.  They stock editions called Musica Obscura and Musica Rara.  A few weeks ago I bought Tausig's transcription of the Schubert D major March Militaire for $7 or something.  When it came it was literally a bunch of photocopied pages!  It's a good edition, though, and the piece is impossible to find, so I have no complaints.  But if you can't find what you're looking for, go to www.burtnco.com and do a search for Musica Obscura and/or Musica Rara editions.  They do have great stuff -- like rare revised versions of Rachmaninoff pieces.  And the shipping from Burt is incredibly fair -- if your shipment's under a pound, you get exact first class postage (sometimes under $1).  The great shipping policy, along with the fact that "if it's in print in the United States, they'll find it," makes it a rare occasion that I buy sheet music anywhere else than Burt.

P.S.  If you make an initial order of 10 different items, you become a discounted customer for LIFE.  That means you get 15% off Henle!

Still unable to locate the music.  I have a few calls into some music libraries, and some emails sent out, even to Francesco Libetta himself.

If anyone has other leads i could try i'd appreciate it.

Thanks
