Happy Mardi Gras from near New Orleans
on: February 09, 2016, 05:51:42 PM
so it's Mardi Gras which means I am not going anywhere today.   My town has been taken over by drunken tourists scarfing up beads in the street.   Everything closes down for Mardi Gras and the kids have no school.   Most locals hide away in their houses and wait for it to be over.  I used to play Mardi Gras gigs every year but just the simple logistics of getting where you need to play can be a never ending maze of blockades and police.  Then trying to get out is even worse.

so if I post too much today... that's why.

Happy Mardi Gras to you too!
To celebrate, I bought Beethoven concerti #s 3 and 4, as well as the Chopin second. That said, I didn't realize it was Mardi Gras until you brought it up ;D ;D

I feel the same about Kentucky Derby.  I don't even live in the same state.
10 years ago a guy that tested .3% blood alcohol made it 55 miles out of town out a Indiana country road and head-on hit three ladies in a Focus.  Splat.
I personally saw a Lincoln dragging the front bumper on I265 (Louisville loop) backwards about 50 mph and throwing a shower of sparks 20' in the air.  happy 500 horsepower, idiot. That was on Oaks day, the day before Ky Derby.
People fly from place to place to be vile & obnoxious.  See if that Lincoln will jump the ditch around my property, idiots.  Nice thing about this little ville, I'm 30' from the road and the nearest neighbor.  Reason I live here & not Houston, my school years home.
