Interesting; but why spend all that time on the object linked in the picture when you could get straight to work?

There's no reason to do that. If you want to improve, then play the piano, don't play Chopin on some other contraption. This piece is do-able. Plus, if you miss a key on your contraption, then what happens? You just play the air. And if you miss a key on a real piano, then what happens? You just play a white key. How does this help?

I think this may be a joke? Maybe...
Sometimes I can only groan and suffer and pour out my despair at the piano.

Tee hee.

I was having some work done on my piano a few weeks ago and the action was pulled out.  I took that opportunity to try to clean the fronts of the notorious Yamaha white keys (badly yellowed and they start to warp on the edges - very weird).  I figures I would have a little fun with the opportunity.

Joke's on you, SPOILER, not all the notes in that piece are black :D

Funny how some people took you seriously.

You could practice the right hand on that sort of contraption, smarty.

I'll let you have that one. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

That implies that you have a glass house and a stone to begin with...

Wow...

I try to introduce a little levity and all hell breaks loose...

That's it.  I am putting my piano back together to learn this etude in the standard manner and I am also cancelling my trip to the beach and the rental on the waterproof Steinway and military grade pontoon for when I learn the Ocean Etude...
