Does anyone speak french?
on: February 17, 2016, 08:22:43 PM
There is a name that keeps popping up.. somewhere, that sounds nearly identical to a phonetic translation to:

Lottie-Do

If anyone here speaks french, is there a term of endearment that resembles the sound of the above? Like someone would call their sweetheart?

The time period this name would have been used is mid-19th century.

I know this sounds strange but if anyone can offer insight, it would mean the world to me.

EDIT: I just realized Lottie is a French name. Liszt spoke French, funny that. My new question is:

What would one "tack on" to Lottie to form a term of endearment? Lottie-Doo/Daw/Dee/?

Haven't heard it it, not an expert, but it sounds like something people would tack on.

Also checked here...  I wondered about "dom" but Lottie wouldn't be a monk, unless it's meant as a joke.

I'm sure some ladies would prefer the latter LOL.
