Show off piece

Hi, I'm looking for a showy piece that I can learn in my free time. I'm looking for something that is challenging, will be satisfying to learn, yet not too long so as to take forever to learn. Something around 6 minutes in length or less. I'm looking for something in the romantic era or 20th century.
Here are some pieces that I've played in the past few years.
Mvmt. 1 Grieg piano concerto (2 pianos)
Mvmt. 3 Beethoven appassionata
Liszt Sonetto 104 del Petrarca]
Around first ~10min. of Mvmt. 1 of Tchaikovsky's piano concerto - stopped a little before the octaves
Liszt Un Sospiro
Chopin Etudes Op.10 No.3, 4, 8

I guess the difficulty on these pieces vary a decent amount, and there's more pieces that I've played in the past few years, but these are the first to come to mind.

Well, 10/4 is a showy piece in and of itself, but I'll bite.

I personally love 10-4 still raises my hair till the end when played demonically.

Wow! This is the first time I've heard that piece and it's beautiful. I'd love to play it, but honestly I don't think I could do it justice. Looking at the music, with the repetitive chord-single note sequence throughout, it looks like a nightmare. I'll sight read through part of it to see how it goes.

Something about baroque music just doesn't resonate with me. When I had to play Scarlatti and Bach previously, it seemed very mechanical and forced.

How about Rachmaninoff's Moment Musicaux No 4? It always pleases audiences:-)

Jardins by Debussy is always a favorite show off piece.  It isn't as difficult as it sounds but still difficult of course I would learn it one day definitely.

@chopinlover unfortunately that one is right around the bend for me... I just see long hours of practice XD

Huh, I completely forgot about these. I think I will actually play the 4th, a played one of the slower ones a while back and enjoyed it.

No offense, but why would you want to show off your pianistic skills to people. It is an awful tendency that a lot of pianists seem to have. It is the combination of hedonism with artistry which, in my opinion, can't go together well. Instead, use your artistic skills to make decisions about your playing, and therefore develop a wonderful interpretation of that certain piece.

this piece plays  very much like an etude. i absolutely love all those super gnarly rapidly changing harmonies. it's tough and quick but it's short, so that keepts difficulty in check sort of. rad piece. it's been on my desk for ages, i need to quick lollygagging and learn the silly thing already, fun 20th century option

3rd movement of moonlight sonata - Beethoven
Hungarian rhapsody no. 2 -Liszt (longer than 6 minutes, but very impressive piece)
Etude op. 8 no. 12- Alexander Scraibin

If you're looking to learn a showy piece for non musical people, then learn pirates of the Caribbean or something.

The sad thing is, you're probably right. If I played islamey for non-musical people vs. pirates of the Caribbean, they'd probably enjoy the latter more.
