Nina Simone's "Sugar In My Bowl" -- interesting fills
on: April 02, 2016, 05:13:40 PM
Hi folks,
I'm learning Nina Simone's "Sugar In My Bowl" by ear, listening to the recording. The first melody line is a progression of B - D#7 - G#7 which is easy enough. But then there's a full line of only C#7 and another full line of only F#7.
I'm having trouble making the accompaniment interesting during these last two lines. Listening to the recording isn't terribly helpful, it's hard to hear what's going on and is just confusing me.
Any suggestions???!
Thanks!
