Intense/ dramatic pieces in minor keys
on: April 06, 2016, 05:41:50 AM
What are some good dramatic pieces in the minor keys? I love piano pieces of that style (winter wind, revolutionary, stuff like that (although it doesn't need to be that fast))
Please don't list any pieces by the composers Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven, as I am already quite familiar with them
And also please do not make any rude comments to me. I eat my words and will admit I'm not yet an advanced pianist.

My personal favorites:
Scriabin Etude Op. 8 No. 12 in D# minor
Rachmaninoff Op. 3 No. 2 in C# minor
Rachmaninoff Op. 23 No. 5 in G minor
Rachmaninoff Concerti 2,3 in C minor and D minor respectively
Rachmaninoff Etude in D minor (Op. 33 No. 4, well it was technically No. 5 but he didn't publish No. 4 so they call it No. 4)
Prokofiev Sonatas 2, 6, 7 (idk if they fall under the category of "intense," but yeah I'll let you be the judge of that haha)

I am trying to become Franz Liszt. Trying. And failing.
