The first one is a delightful singing melody that really does resemble the fresh peace of the woods.

I've plugged it before and I'll plug it again. My favorite Debussy piece by far. So fun to play also One of the many pieces that makes Debussy rank #2 on my list.

This piece! I love it!! Other two movements are a slight let down for me, especially the third movement, but the first movement is wonderful. I love his style, his chords aren't quite seen in any other composer. He ranks #4 for me

How could I make a plugging thread without my favorite Fred? I love how the melody starts simple, develops, develops and develops until it blossoms and then fades soon thereafter. Kind of like a flower.

The last three are all Liszt. It is because of pieces like these that Liszt ranks #3 for me. Not the Transcendentals, though I do love those, not the Hungarian Rhapsodies, but these simple, joyful melodies. I've mentioned some of these elsewhere.

Ravel's style takes some warming up to. The 2nd movement is a favourite of mine from his sonatine. The third is quite nice too! Lovely selection of pieces. Feel free to share more, I might do the same!

Yeah sorry I always get that wrong because of the first time I heard it was on a CD in which is was just called "Liszt Standchen" for some reason

Oh yes the 2nd movement is nice, it reminds me of the fugue from le tombeau de couperin. I will consider sharing more!

thanks for posting these! I love most of these, and even got to learn a few more pieces.
I reaaallllly liked the Grieg piece, which I had never actually heard before. Added to one of my playlists. 

I agree that Sonatina no. 1 is the best, but you are really missing out on the other two!

Also, I hadn't heard the Schubert Liszt Standchen. So amazing. Thanks for sharing, Noah.
