I'm not familiar with the Volodos recording, but Rachmaninoff did revise both the Mélodie and Sérénade from the Opus 3 Morceaux de Fantaisie in 1940.  Both the original (1892) and revised editions are available on IMSLP.

That looks like the one, the score is much denser. I'll compare it to what I heard. Really much appreciated, I wouldn't have checked imslp myself.
