Gubaidulina Chaconne for grad school audition?

What do you think of her Chaconne as an audition piece?

So basically it can be any 20C piece.

I've got the Prokofiev Sonata No. 7, but that and a couple Ligeti etudes are all I've got for 20C, (the ones I can play well) so I was hoping not to use it.

Someone told me that the Chaconne doesn't show my musicianship as well as Prokofiev 7 or Scriabin 5. I do want to try Scriabin 5 as well, but was thinking that I might be able to win points for playing something composed after 1945.

Please give my some advice. Thanks!

go w the one you like most that best showcases your level and creativity. at this level, the emphasis is on your technical and musical base, your creativity will highlight your potential to continue to learn/grow there while contributing to scene while you are there.
Personally, I'd as late into 20th century as you can/know far as lit you have prepped, and if it is a fringe standard or uncommon work, all the better.

hmm post 1945, Oscar Esplas's sonata Espanola is from 1949, the movements are groovy.
