Cadenzas for Mozart's CONCERTO #20 (KV 466)
on: April 18, 2016, 08:34:57 PM
Hi everyone,

I have been revisiting Mozart's 20th piano concerto which I hadn't touched in 30 years. Back in the day, when I was a student, I had played Beethoven's cadenzas for the concerto, since Mozart didn't write his down. Now far be it from me to criticize any of Manifest God's compositions, but I don't really think they are ... well ... Mozartlike (Forgive me, oh Lord!). On the other hand, I really like Alfred Brendel's cadenzas, but my Phillips recording doesn't say who composed these and, above all, where I can find them.

All publications I have checked include Almighty's cadenzas. Can anyone help with suggestions and information on where I can find others that agree more with the Mozart style? Please, note that I cannot compose anything to save my life and have no doubt that if I ever even tried, Mozart would come out of his grave as a Zombie to chase me with a stick and eat my brain.

Thanks for any help with this.
