AST tool - Enlighten me please
on: April 21, 2016, 06:11:20 AM
Hello dear fellow members, I would need you technical knowledge and help. I can't seem to have ASL play correctly. There is not cursor showing and no reading motion going on following the music.
The music sheet is static. No reading. All the rest seems to work fine.
I am using my macOS X computer and my Android tablet. Both current models. And browse the website AST page under Google Chrome.
Same issue on both.
Thank you for your lights..., kind regards,
Caroline

PS I made a screenshot to show a detail. A pianostreet copyright tag is displayed across the sheet music. In case that might indicate the kind of issue I'm having... Unless the copyright barring the sheet music is normal?
I am properly logged in with a Gold account...
Thank you

Hello Caroline,
The AST displays the score while you listen and the scroll bar is used to manually navigate in the score. The tool does not follow the score note by note. I assume you might have been confused by the demo video in which a user is moving the mouse cursor along with the recording.
And yes, the water mark (soft grey pianostreet.com) should be there on many of the pages. Hope this explains it all!

Thank you for stepping up and offer final explanation, dear Administrator. Much appreciated.
It means that indeed I was "confused by" the video that shows and advertises a truly working and helping tool.
What you are describing is not a true audiovisual tool. Just windows displayed side by side.

- Moreover, I have been trying to reach your services via all contact forms possible (web mail forms, emails, and phone) since March. No reply. No one there.

Very disappointing and, imho, very deceiving all in all,
Thank you for the belated clarification of course!
Best regards

Thanks for your feedback and thoughts about the AST. We are always interested in hearing suggestions about the AST and other features.

The current AST functionality is based on pedagogical research and user tests. Stimulating auditory attention and analytical score reading are the main objectives of the tool. A cursor or marker following the music note by note is technically possible but is not necessarily optimal for pedagogical reasons.

If you were confused by the demo video and our services do not meet your expectations, we are happy to offer a full refund of your Gold membership fee. Just send an e-mail to our support: customerservice@pianostreet.com

Please note that we do not offer phone support on a regular basis but for some reason your web/email message must have escaped our attention. We apologize for that.
