Video footage from recording session. Audio is from a portable Tascam and not the session mics/recording equipment. One-take and completely unedited.

Mobile cam so to speak; a friend was trying to get shots from as many different angles as possible. Good quality video camera, so the resolution is pretty good (better than youtube probably supports, in honesty).

Beautifully sounding grand + good acoustics + excellent playing = ENJOYMENT ! THANKS

I have both the Tascam and the Zoom4hn and I personally feel that the Tascam records "thinly" than the Zoom.  Are you using the built-in microphones of the Tascam or the external mics positioned near the opposite end of the piano?  If the external mics, that explains the fullness of the sound as that area picks more of the mid and lower notes. Or is this Steinway really full sounding & more mellow than sharp in the highs?

Thanks emill.. the curious thing is, compared to the sample you commented on previously (a few days ago) THIS one is using only the audio from the portable Tascam (internal mic only) - the visible mics were off at this point. The sound from the mics on stage  (as used in the Rienzi/Thalberg recording) should be better than the Tascam, but I much prefer the Tascam's sound in this video!
