Learning to play
on: May 07, 2016, 08:25:34 PM
I'am playing for more than 10 years and i think i have quite decent technique, but i find myself unable to play by ear. Do you have any tips to help me with jazz piano improvisation and hearing skills?

Well 12 bar blues is pretty good starting point. You want to study lots of rhythmic patterns, listen to lots and lots and lots...... and lots.... and listen some more. Sight read through tons of jazz music out there, if you play through a few hundred examples it will give you a great foundation for creating your own ideas.
