Casta diva (arr. Alfred Jaell)
on: June 14, 2016, 09:52:21 AM
This lovely arrangement is from a larger entity, his Reminiscences de Norma, which I have been working on over the last two years. It is a more romantic setting than, for example, Thalberg's, which still retains some classicism about it. This extract is from a recent studio recording. I would post the whole thing, but I've got to bear in mind it is part of an album which I hope to see released commercially in about three months' time, and I can't go pre-posting it all on Pianostreet!

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks emill. I think it's a very emotional arrangement too. I believe I now know four concert arrangements of Casta diva - this has become my favourite even if I will always have a soft spot for Thalberg's.

Ronde, i am late to this party. The name Jaell is not uknown to me but hobestly i cannot rember how or whem i came across him. This was such a refreshing treat. Cannot put my finger exactly on what moved me in this sample/expple but i can offer that as a listener that i enjoted this immensely.
I have been playing and replaying these in traffic and it has kept me calm and engaged in beautiful music
Actually were it not for your fine renditions of these and others from your soundcloud and cd, i fear i would have punched and broken something in my car over traffic smd congestion fits of rage
. That says.something, seriously i would have punched someone or something by now ala the incredible hulk by now but your playing transported my mind elsewhere.
Bravo
Incredibly lovely playing on all of these

Thanks visitor, much appreciated. I have grown very fond of this arrangement and can't wait to get the full disc completed! A little bit more progress made earlier this week.
