Loverman Jazz Standard
on: July 05, 2016, 01:55:40 PM

I am currently taking jazz piano lessons from a popular jazz pianist in Toronto named Amanda Tosoff. This is one of the songs that we are working on during the piano lesson. Love to hear feedback of my current abilities.

this is a cool piece you gave it a cool relaxed groove. I would try to make the restatement of the theme more interesting, play w tone or variation in your pacing or playing w softer, etc.

is this  a realized score or are you playing from a lead sheet or chord symbols only or a melody w blocked chords and you're asked to figure it out or is it played as written?

either , good job, keep on keeping on !  8)
you're laugh at the end, totally reminded me of duck hunt lol  :P

I'm playing from a boring lead sheet, BUT my teacher gave me ideas of how to add interest to the piece. ie. voicings, ostinatos, rolling chords, etc. I think next time I have lessons with Amanda, she will show me ideas to make the restatement of the theme more interesting.
