Vocal fugues??
on: July 08, 2016, 06:23:58 AM
You know, like Glenn Gould's "So you want to write a fugue?"; does anybody here know of any other fugues where the parts are sung?

Cheers,
M.W.

Good heavens.  There are lots and lots of them.  Two notable ones occur in the Brahms and Berlioz Requiems.

They're all over the place!

Brahms motet "Warum ist das Licht gegeben" contains a beautiful vocal fugue.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions! ;) I didn't know they were so numerous, ian. That one from the Brahms motet is just wondrous!!

Any further suggestions are, of course, very much welcome.

Cheers,
M.W.
