Which concerto is more difficult: Beethoven No. 1 3rd Movement or Kabalevsky No. 3 3rd movement. Our daughter has won some state and local piano competitions. She is now 13 but will be competing in the 14-18 category for a state concerto competition. She played the Kabalevsky no. 3 3rd movement last year and it seems similar in difficulty to Beethoven No. 1 3rd movement (recommended by her instructor).
We want her to progress so we desire that the concerto she learns this year to be more difficult. She is an excellent pianist and very competitive. Firstly, I would appreciate your thoughts on the difficulty of the Beethoven concerto compared to the Kabalevsky. Secondly, if you have any concertos that you would like to recommend for her to be competitive in the 14-18 year old category, please share. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.
Sincerely,
Catherine
