Knight Rupert Help
on: August 05, 2016, 10:45:14 PM
Hi guys - I wonder if someone could possibly help me.

I'm confused by the notes in treble clef. Should I be playing them twice (when there are two notes next to each other) or just the once? When I listen to the piece (played properly!) I can't hear the repetition.

I've attached the bit of music I'm stuck on.

Thank you so much!

Louise

Hi there - Sorry for the delay in responding. I had loads of trouble uploading it from my phone but have converted it to pdf now on my computer so it should work!

Thank you in advance!

Hi misiu,

You are right, you only need to play the notes once.

In this case, there are two voices on the right hand. One that goes F, Gb, Ab, Eb (top voice) and the one that goes D, Ab, Gb, Ab, high Ab, Ab, C, Ab (lower voice). When the two voices have the same exact note, some publishers use notation like in the pdf. It's confusing, but they still use it. Generally, it should be read like in the attachment I attached below. (Sorry for the weird blue dot)

Thank you again so much
