Thalberg.. again. Moses' Prayer.

Becoming a bit of a warhorse of mine.. https://soundcloud.com/andrew-wright-35/dal-tuo-stellato-soglio-2016/s-NdCbs my segment from last Saturday's recital at Conway Hall, London commemorating the remarkable life and career of my esteemed teacher, Kenneth van Barthold (1927-2016). For a live performance I'm pretty happy with this; small accident when flash cameras started going off!

Thanks for the wow! He was a very fine teacher and sufficiently broad-minded that he worked with and around my lack of conventional training, rather than against it as some might have. I am very grateful to him.

sorry for the delay in reply and absence of bit lately on my favorite board in the street.
always a fan of your playing and your choice of piece to perform, and the the superb rendition/high standard you presented here.  What a way to honor the memory and impact of someone so important to your life and instrumental in your development.

I honestly was not familiar with either this or the original work it is based on, so as a 'fresh' listen, I really enjoyed it from start to finish.

Thanks for sharing and broadening mine (and other's) exposure by granting us access to this piece.

It was strange to be publicly performing a work when I've just been editing a studio version. Made me very aware of everything I didn't get right. It's a good piece to play in public though, effective (more so I feel than its parent piece ie the Moses Fantasy) and made for a nice close to the evening's recital.
