Hello Everyone!
Have just read a bit of advice people have given others regarding the annoying buzzing which can affect pianos from time to time.

I have a fairly young U1 purchased just 5 years ago from the original owner who kept it in pristine condition.  It's been tuned twice a year without fail, and it's always been placed near a living wall.

For the past few months during practise I've heard and increasingly annoying buzz coming from a number of keys within a single octave range:  F below Middle C to the F above it.  Lately the damper pedal is joining in the off key fun and it's driving me nuts.  We moved just two years ago and my old tech was great about travelling here a few times a year but he and his wife just had a baby and I sensed driving here an hour away isn't as easy as it was before (totally understandable).

Before I search for a new tech I'm hoping that you can help me get a sense of what's going on.  A few months ago when I asked my old tech what the problem might be via email he asked me to remove the front cover and take a look.  I was afraid to cause any damage (probably silly) so I left it alone hoping that denial would take care of the problem.  Now I'm ready to start taking a look, and to learn about what could be causing the problem.  I checked for sympathetic vibration a few months ago to no avail.

Any help you good people might be willing to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Taking the front cover and fallboard off U1 is perfectly safe and it's easy to put back. That would reveal the most obvious reasons such as something inside the piano that does not belong here.

like a pencil.  Paper clip.  Bobby pin... particularly if it really is a buzz without much sense of pitch.
