About to sleep soon...time to pray to my god. This time I'll be listening to prophet Hoffman's great interpretation of the ancient and sacred texts:

Experiences don't accumulate, they're individual. For you it may be old, but for me it isn't. I don't care if 10 billion people have played X piece before, if I haven't, then it'll be a completely new experience for me. Besides, it's not our fault that he along with Scriabin and Rachmaninov are the best and everyone else pales in comparison : ^ )

.

lel. twas merely an observation and not a judgement (in that context). certainly was more in the spirit of i would hope folks would not see the music as "not chopin....not worth my time..."
 8)
.
yes JH is worth listening to!

PS
do seek out Michel Block's numerous Chopin recordins on yt. his bio is worth reading, especially given a certain incident a Chopin competition.."...In one of the most famous of all piano competition incidents, Michel Block won The Arthur Rubinstein Prize in Warsaw at The 1960 Frederic Chopin International Competition. Mr. Rubinstein, having been displeased with the jury's verdicts, invented the prize on the spot, and personally made the award to Mr. Block...."
*translated, Art felt he should have won.

he is generally considered a 'pianist's pianist' much in a similar light to how pianists regard Hofmann...uncommon...uncommonly exceptional, but 'understated/underrated/ by the mainstream classical crowd.
btw his recording of the 2nd Scriabin piano sonata is probably the finest recording of it on the net, certainly my favorite I have ever heard(
). He was a sensitive pianist, and really 'unflashy'.
I'm working on a suite for piano he composed with my teacher right now and it's giving me a deeper insight to him as  a musician. so even I will occassionally indulge in a passing chopin listen or too, I just don't kneel at the alter of Fred.  ;)

the reason I excluded bach (no smarta s    s comments outin!) was because I thought we were talking about piano gods not keyboard gods. scarlatti is gr8 but he's no piano composer.

ps the pianist visitor likes is really good....I like his mazurkas

P.S.S but if you're really persistent I'll add Scarlatti to our sacred texts.  ::)  ;D ;D ;D

Which makes it even more amazing that he's music is heavenly on the piano as well...I don't especially like harpsichords...

There are a few runner ups, some we would probably agree more than others ;)

Okay this is the official Visitor thread.

Visitor, if you're reading this, how do you feel about Final Fantasy 15 being only a little bit over a month away?

all visitors are welcome!  8)
#long over due. this was supposed to be final fantasy xiii versus and we got mention of it back in 2006.

I actually think it won't let down even with the hype, delay. I'm glad they waited to make sure it was what it can be without trying to only cater to ff purists (yes i do love my ff turn based/menu based systems but the franchise must evolve...).

the music so far has not disappointed.  Yoko Shimomura from Kingdom Hearts Fame at the help. +1
It does technically exist in the 'same universe' as FFXIII so there is a bit of familiarity to some aspects but it's completely independent of Lightning and her friends.

the pre marketing has been genius, folks should watch the anime episodes giving insight to Noctis and his crew available on the ff15 yt channel. it's actually really good (5 episodes in i think?).

rent Kingslave , the movie was out to buy for a while but last week or so hit the rental market, gives neccessary insight into the King, the war, and sets up the game's backdrop, a lot more will make since if people get caught up before starting the game.

i'm super excited. i'm also hoping SE and Yamaha do not drop the ball and release a good piano collections. The music so far will lend it self great to concert piano transcription.

there's a 1hr or so concert of game music at the abbey road studio in London from earlier this year. it was a good concert and fun to watch/listen.

i hope it is wildly successful so the funding /backing is there to make FF16 what it should be, we already saw some graphics engine concepts a couple years ago so I have to hope/believe this is in development.

all the dlc and different access to certain items and bonuses is a little annoying, there's a pregame hitting soon and you must pre order via amazon but if you nail it you get access to  some groovy gear.

the behemoths look great as do marlboros. so far Noctic and his crew are likable in a ffx main character sort of way.

looking forward to lots and lots of easter eggs.

so i think i may try to access the road trip
https://www.latestnewsexplorer.com/final-fantasy-xv-amazon-roadtrip-trailer/

i need to upgrade some AV gear at home , come to think of it...

Yeah the DLCs are annoying, I hate that too! But I've getting really excited as of late thanks to the new gameplay videos. THE CITIES ARE AMAZING!!!

I still want full control of my party. I heard that that was coming as DLC though....

Is Nier only for console platforms and not PC? Damn that sucks, but yeah you should totally get P5 when you get the chance. It's hardcore.I regret buying because I now have to cram for an exam LOL.

Nioh is also badass:

JAZZ RENDITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ha ha yep yep.

OT, but still, I'm actually super psyched about the re release and HD remastering (and adding missing content originally only available in the Japan release), of FF XII, this was a gem of a game that came late into the PSII cycle, and was sadly  a bit ignored, not sure, why, there was some great talent on the development team, and it was fairly inoculated against the pitfalls that befell XIII. And the music was different, still with the FF feel, but it's fairly unique score among the installments. I'm glad it's coming. Will likely pick this up when i get ps4

sorry late seeing this....so far e3 had been a let.down, but most of the disapointment was foreshadowed by comments made prev to e3 at investor and stock holder conferences by developers....oh well.

Remake for this one ia notable and welcome but again key here is like hollywood lots of sequel, prequel, spin off, remake ,etc. Very little in way of awesome original content and more delays in highly anticipated franchise next installments...mainly because they are trying to redo the most popular as "services" and or release incomplete then charge for dlc to actually make the game decent and playable....smh
Still this is cool

Sorry for the late reply as well, I just got done watching all the E3 recaps and it's a good thing I decided to skip on it - pretty underwhelming. Not so excited on the shadow of colossus remake because we already have an HD collection for the PS3? Don't really see the point.

AND JESUS CHRIST, I AM SO OUT OF TOUCH WITH MAIN STREAM GAMES.
THEY ARE ALL
SO
BORING.

It's either sequels of games I'm not interested, or DLC, or "interactive movies" video games. I was sort of hyped on Spiderman but sort of gave up once I saw just how maaaaaaaaaaany QTEs there was in the demo. Jesus.

agreed
one notable finally coming after years of teases is cuphead, finally and that retro old disney wb animation. They nailed it. This is one cool game

couple years ago I played a demo for an individual rpg style one caped child of light, that was a good one, I need to buy it/download it. It was great and what a demo should do, left me wanting to play more

Yeah Child of Light is pretty great, it seems that indie developers are the only ones interested in making interesting games lol. It's too bad they don't have replay value, still far more enjoyable than Battlefront...
