My old beloved piano
on: January 08, 2005, 11:13:52 PM
My families’ piano is a Heinztman serial number 77125. I was wondering is someone knew how I could find out more information about it. Age, value for insurance etc. It was purchase restored in the mid 70’s and is like new. The third generation of my family is now learning to play on it. Thanks.

Based on the seriel number the piano was made in 1926. Heinztman pianos were known to be great instruments in their day. However, before anyone can provide even a suggestion about your piano's worth they need to have some basic information, like is it a upright or a grand, and what size is it of either. You say the piano was restored in the 70s, but what eactly did they do to the piano? For example was a new pinblock installed with new strings? New soundboard?
I would recommend you hire a piano tech to inspect the piano and provide you with an estimate of its value. Here in the Washington DC area this would run about $100. Good luck.
