Preluding...
on: November 17, 2016, 07:10:23 PM
Hi!
I have to do a very relaxed playing session of about an hour (background to a formal lunch, or something similar  ;D ) with free program.
I was thinking to use short preludes to connect the various pieces, like Ries' 40. (sadly I can't find the score).
Can you point me to some interesting sets? They could be useful also as "improvising teaching pieces", if you know what I mean  :)
Currently on:
Bach - WTK Book 1 n. 5-6
Beethoven - Sonate Pathétique
Rachmaninov - Polichinelle op. 3
Studies from Clementi and Moscheles
Telemann - Fantasias 1-2 in D
Haydn - b minor Sonata

There's the P. A. Corri book of preluding. I've never really looked at it properly but perhaps it might be useful?

Thank you. I found it at UR and I'll give it a look.
Other interesting Preludes that I found are Clementi's, from Musical Characteristics and Preludi e Esercizi.

for some pretty and easy ones, look at the Gillock 24, includes all keys, lyrical.

there are some jazzy preludes too, maybe look at these
