Chopin's Lost Waltz in EbM (theme)
on: November 25, 2016, 07:54:25 AM
Hello,

I wrote this piece using the first 4 bars of Chopin's Lost Waltz in EbM. I'd like to know what you guys think! If you like it enough to want to play it, don't hesitate to ask for the sheet music! I would be super happy to give it to you! :)

I hope you will enjoy it!! Have a great day!

Not chopinesque, in fact it ends up sounding like mid-period russian romanticism XD. I would assume the point of stuff like this (like completeing incomplete schubert sonatas) is to try and keep it in style? HOWEVER, having said that it was extremely beautiful writing and i must thank you for sharing it us. Loved it all the way through!

Thank you so much :)

Actually, at first I indeed thought I would follow Chopin style but ended up just writing the piece as if it was 100% one of mine... hahaha

Well done!
I found the treatment  very Chopinesque.. Espescially noticing you reflecting - around the minute and a half mark, some of Chopin's more elusive harmonic vocabulary.. very convincing.
My only criticism relates to the ending - it seemed just perfunctory.  I was hoping for something - a bit more - 'charged' with the creativity of what came before..
Thanks for posting.

Thank you :) I really appreciate your comment!
You found just the few last bars to be perfunctory or also the part before (i.e the climax)?

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!
