How difficult is Chopin's opus 22 Andante Spianato?
on: December 23, 2016, 05:07:13 PM
Dear people from Pianostreet,

Last week I finished Debussy's Clair de Lune and now i'm looking for a new piece to study. Chopin's Andante Spianato always has been one of my favorites and it seems technically manageable.
I have done some research on how hard this piece is but without success. Every source was talking about Andante Spianato AND Grande Polonaise, but what is actually the difficulty of the Andante Spianato itself?
I hope you guys can help me out  ;D

Kind regards,
Dinant.

You can handle it. Although the fioraturas require a different touch and technique to anything you've encountered in the Debussy, it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Enjoy learning it. : )

Thanks for your reply. This will be a good piece to finish my first year playing piano!  :)
I'll start working on it tommorrow.
