yeah, but it's $150 cheaper, which means I can afford one! yay! I've been trying to save up for a full version but I always end up having to buy boring necessary stuff instead. ::)
It's reaaaallly tiny, should be nice- I can listen to my music while I'm playing tennis LOL. That should be interesting. I wonder if Mozart will help your court strategy? ;)
It holds 120 songs- not bad. I can get all my favorites plus some on it.
Tash, do you have the mini or the full ipod? If the mini what color? :)

Does iTunes have "classical" music? I thought it was only popular...huh. I will be sure to get an iPod if they do. Or do you all just use a different website or just download all your CD's onto the iPod? *confused* Does whatever source you use (iTunes ect.) have a good assortment?

iTMS does have a lot of classical albums, and they are often much cheaper than anywhere else. However, there is definitely room for expansion in this direction, and Apple is doing this, probably according to the market situation. Of course, I also have my CDs on the iPod. The biggest turn-off of iTMS is that the music doesn't come in true "CD" quality but in the AAC format, which has somewhat reduced quality. I must say, however, that my stereo system is by far not able to pick up any differences (I have tried very hard).

iTMS should not be a reason to get or not get an iPod. They are completely separate. The iPod is in itself a great gadget. Where you get your music from is another issue.

It looks quite affordable for an Apple product.  I've always seen that company as unnecessarily expensive.  There is no way I would have gotten my 40GB iPod if it wasn't my Christmas gift last year...just too much money.  The problem with that Shuffle thing is that I would probably get frustrated with it for not playing the pieces I wanted to hear, and I'd end up throwing it to the ground and stepping on it for good measure.  Then I'd have to buy a new one, and with the price of two Shuffles I could have bought myself an iPod!  ;D

But...have you seen the new Mac Mini?  It's an entire computer in this teeeeny little box.  CD-ROM and everything!  You can order up to 1GB of RAM and and 80GB HD! Check it out: https://www.apple.com/macmini/

As far as I can see, the iPod Shuffle does allow playing the "songs" in sequence or shuffled. It's up to you.

yeah the only draw-back to the shuffle is that it doesn't have a display. But it has 12 hrs. of battery on one charge & complete skip protection. Not bad for something the size of a pack of gum.
I ordered my 1 GB version today!
1-2 weeks before it gets here.
can. not. wait.

well it's annoying cos itunes doesn't have a store in australia so i can't buy anything from there anyway, but they did have a nice assortment of classical music. i just put all my cd's on mine instead, and have more than enough there to keep me happy.
ok ok fine i lied i don't have a kangaroo. i have an emu called harry i'll post a pic up soon ;)

In my experience iTunes is one of the better of a sorry lot for classical music.  They do seem to have some great older stuff--Gieseking, for example--but not a lot of variety.  Still, better than the others.

What sites do you all recommend for any format, including .mp3?  ... for classical music?
