Curtis/Juilliard Schools?
on: March 20, 2017, 02:37:28 AM
Hey all,
I was wondering who among you have had experiences studying in either of these two schools?
What was it all about? How did it help you as a musician? How many hours a day would you practice? How was the teaching?
This is just out of curiosity. I'm not planning to get into either school, as of now. I just want to hear someone's opinion.
Regards,

I've had several colleagues tell me that it has much more to do with the atmosphere (being around colleagues of a very high level, etc.) than it does the teaching - one friend studied a year with a piano teacher at Juilliard, disliked it, and transferred to Indiana. Probably true of any school, though, the latter part . . .
