I have heard recordings made by Nikolai Medtner, Geoffrey Tozer, Andrey Ponochevny, Konstantin Scherbakov and Marc-André Hamelin. In my opinion, Medtner is the best interpreter of his own works due to his restrained performances which are not rushed. Additionally, his phrasing is very tasteful and the clarity of the sound he produces helps the listener to understand his counterpoint and hear all the voices in his music.

For example, listen to Medtner's unique phrasing from 1:06 to 1:07 in this recording:

Who are your favourite interpreters of Medtner's music and what is your reason/are your reasons for choosing them?

Please remain on-topic and discuss the interpretation of the performer rather than their appearance.

Vadym Kholodenko. He does a great job playing the Sonata op.  25 No. 2 "Night Wind" and he is the pianist playing on the only CD I have of Medtner's music.  ;)

Tozer is a miracle. And if you have not heard Ogdon devour the night wind then you really have never heard piano playing at the summit of human capacity.
Beethoven-Alkan, concerto 3
Faure barcarolle 10
Mozart-Stradal, symphony 40
