Rachmaninoff typo?

I know there have been some other recent threads about Rachmaninoff pieces with potential small note errors.

I ran into something recently in the 4th movement of his musical moments (in the attached picture).

The circled note is a D, but every other time this comes up, the right hand plays an E (which also matches the left hand). I was wondering if you guys would assume the D is a typo in this case and just play an E? The piece is very fast so I guess it nobody will really hear the difference, but I'm curious.

1. What edition and is it current or has a reprint been done
2. Reference multiple editions and make sure they are edited by different editors.
3. Is the item in question consistently the  same or do other editions show otherwise

Unfortunately, there are no urtext editions of the score on the IMSLP's website for Rachmaninoff's Moments Musicaux, Op.16:

If a score is an urtext edition then the IMSLP would label it as "URTEXT EDITION".

You could compare your score with the scores on the website mentioned above (copy and paste the link into your browser). If most editions contain an E then the correct note is likely to be an E. On the other hand, if most editions contain a D then that is likely to be the correct note. In my opinion, the note is probably meant to be an E since all the other right-hand notes seem to match the left-hand notes with which they are aligned in the image that you have provided.

It's a typo all right and should indeed be an E. I don't agree with your last sentence, though; I think that quite a few pairs of ears would pick up that glaring error without much difficulty!

Yeah, the other editions on imslp show an e.
