Music Notation : Help in interpretation

How can I interpret the lines drawn from Ab to Gb to F.. What does it mean? Inner voice maybe? Should that voice be played connected?

It's from theme of paganini op 43 var 18 arr. Pochocco(?)
Yup.. still a beginner. Up til now..

When will a teacher accept me? :/

Yes, I believe it is meant to show that those three notes are part of the same voice line.

Exactly.  That's the inner voice.  Makes it a little easier to finger -- provided you can get the voice to sing its line and not sound like it's hopping from hand to hand!

Thanks! I was at doubt at first. Now i can assign fingerings to the passage with that in mind.
