Debussy L'isle Joyuese
on: May 02, 2017, 06:19:56 PM
Hi all. Here is a performance of L'isle Joyuese that I recently did. There is a minor memory slip in the Arpeggios in the middle that I am aware of so no need to state the obvious there, but I would appreciate any feedback on the piece. I always find the pacing of this piece difficult and am specifically interested in how that is coming across.
Thanks in advance.

I find the speed a bit rushed, actually. Like a cartoon character is playing.
I don't know what wins piano competitions, of course.
I'd let some parts have some island langour in the sun. I'd let other parts speed up in the anticipation of your ship coming in with someone good on it.
Best of luck in the future.
