Edinburgh Festival Fringe recital Aug 2017
on: May 10, 2017, 12:25:39 PM
I will be giving a recital as part of the annual Festival.

23rd August at 18.30, St Mark's Church, 7 Castle Terrace, EH1 2DP.
Central Edinburgh, a short walk from the Usher Hall, and approximately equidistant from both main railway stations (probably about ten minutes' walk from either).

The programme will comprise some operatic paraphrases / transcriptions and also the public premiere performance of my concerto for piano solo: think a mix of Warsaw Concerto / Rachmaninov, Chopin, Liszt and Dies Irae.

Wagner-Liszt        Fantasy on Rienzi
Wagner-Liszt        Isolde's Liebestod
Wright                Thalbergiana
Bellini-Thalberg     Casta diva
Rossini-Thalberg   Dal tuo stellato soglio

(brief intermission)

Wright                    Concerto for piano solo

Tickets  £9, £5 concessions.
I hope to have CDs for sale: my initial A Night at the Opera commercial cd and with any luck the follow-up transcriptions cd as well. (The provisional front cover image is attached within this post.)

Thanks.  :) I expect to be recording it; not sure if I'll be able to arrange video (going to try to arrange a video session for recording the concerto later though).

I've put stuff out on twitter, which I don't really use. Divine Art are likely to announce it on their website - after all they have my product(s) to sell, and the second CD is in the very final stage of booklet design. I'll put something promotional onto youtube regarding the impending CD and / or the recital. Even then though I'm not sure just how much reach such things get; I've only got a tad under 400 subscribers. Maybe have to bite the bullet and put a paid for advert on Facebook at the start of August.
