towards the whole set of Bach's Inventions
on: May 11, 2017, 03:43:36 PM
Hello! I decided to try and play the whole set of two-part inventions by Bach, and then go on with some three-part sinfonias, something of the WTC, etc...
Still a long way in front of me, but here are my first steps: the inventions number 1 (in the two different rhythmical variants), 2 and 3.
I still have a few issues, especially with the trills, but I hope the final result as a whole is not too shabby.
The sound is Pianoteq's D4 - Classical Recording BA:

Cheers!

Great start on them! My only issue is the distortion of the rhythm in the first invention, it was just not in Bach's style IMO, and the rhythmic freedom in introducing the theme in the C minor invention, but otherwise great start! They were clean I thought and expressive.
Clementi, Piano Sonata in G Minor, No. 3, op. 10
W. A. Mozart, Sonata for Piano Four-Hands in F Major, K. 497
Beethoven, Piano Concerto, No. 2, op. 19

thank you for your comment cometear.
Fnfortunately a lot of people didn't enjoy my extreme rubato in the first invention, that's why I recorded the rhythmical variant of the piece with a steadier beat.
I will also record the 3rd invention again cos the users on another forum made me notice a few issues with the ornaments.
