Moving to my area of specialist interest, this is a rare occasion where I prefer a non-Liszt paraphrase to the Liszt one. There is a certain post-classical purity in this:

And onto the totally unknown, and a shameless plug  ;D as it's me playing live.. I'd love to post the studio version (superior piano, superior sound, more refined interpretation) but I'd better keep it under wraps until commercial release time ;)
This paraphrase would have been just about perfect if he'd truncated the opening for dramatic effect.. it is too long as it stands.

I should probably also mention the Reubke piano and organ sonatas (arguably the latter isn't "forgotten").

There used to be two very popular videos on Reubke's piano sonata but they got taken down due to coypright. I don't agree that it's forgotten but it should be as popular as many of the so called "masterpiece" piano sonatas...

I also remember asking for a piano arrangement of Reubke's Psalm 94, but so far no luck. At least we have this:

Reubke is great, too bad he died so young. Imagine the music we would have had if the medical revolution arrived half a century early. : (
