Is Chopin God?
on: October 24, 2017, 05:18:05 AM
first 5 pages of his op. 61 polonaise fantasie
almost up to tempo

utterly convinced it is one of the greatest moments in piano
I think to myself: how is it possible to be this creative?
Simple, Chopin is God
And this is his new testament

What do you think?
Personally I think I'm onto something.

I would prefer Chopin as God over the God proclaimed by Most Christians like Calvin, Luther or Apostle Paul. But within music, no matter how much I love Chopin and also God Polonaise-fantaisie, I still think there exists even greater music by composers like Bach, Beethoven and Schubert.

If you're saying that, like God, Chopin is overrated then maybe, but it would be a hard case to argue. There is not much Chopin I don't enjoy but I think God's oeuvre has been tainted by such works as his Malaria Op.97, HIV/AIDS Op.203, Infectious Diarrhea Op.21, Droughts No.1-1000, the Famine cycle, etc…

overrated my a$$
rachmaninoff would have sacrificed his hands to write something as glorious as Chopin's 2 page mazurkas, let alone the ballades and polonaises.

no seriously man, that's heresy. you'll get sent to hell and be punished with hanon etudes and bach fugues.

I've also been playing a lot more bach lately, but i'm mostly interested in his suites and partitas. Currently polishing partita no. 4 for a recital.

If Chopin is God, Scriabin's Opus 42 is the answer to the universe (because 42...)

Actually your melodies aren't even cool...they are either boring or overly sentimental...

Hi my name is Chopin I like to write 24 pieces with the EXACT same texture throughout the whole piece but different harmony.

Also I learned how to write for orchestra from Paganini.

And I think mjames and I can agree that Outin should be disqualified from any discussion about taste in music.

Sorry Michelle
There are a few here that will equate BachScholar with Bach or God and few that would label him as humble.
