Beautiful playing, and very well recorded too! Have you recorded anything of Albeniz?

Thank you!!  I'm hoping to record Albaicín next time! It is my favourite piece of Iberia though it would be a dream of mine to record the whole set one day!... but that is for when I grow up ;)

I had never listened to this piece before so I didn't really know what to except. I thought your playing was excellent, and I understand why you love Granados! Such a beautiful piece. Since I haven't heard this piece before I really don't have much to say. I maybe would have given number 4 a bit more character but I still liked the way you did it. Keep up the good work!

Amazing playing. I play this on classical guitar and and trying to learn it on piano. Unfortunately my piano skills are nowhere near as good as my guitar playing. I came late to piano but love it anyway. Bravo.

Thank you so much! Funnily, I'm learning Falla's Tambeau for Debussy which is original for guitar!!! So, I'm listening to lots of guitar atm :) Have you played it?

Hi.  In case guitarxx does not get back to you: I too very much enjoyed your performance and I used to play the guitar.  I played 5 of these Valses many years ago in a recital on the classical guitar (before you were born, I’m pretty sure).  I never played the Falla's Tambeau for Debussy, but I heard it performed many years ago and knew it to be a very early example of a piece written for the guitar by a non-guitarist.  It is odd to hear of a guitar piece being transcribed for piano. But when I think about it, guitarists transcribe the Bach solo cello suites and the solo violin partitas and sonatas for guitar.  I listened to the Falla's Tambeau for Debussy played on piano just now on youtube and enjoyed hearing this.

Thanks for getting back to me on this! Had never thought it that it would sound "odd" for piano haha I'm very accustomed to the Spanish sound at the piano, Albéniz, Granados, Falla, Turina.. so it seems very logical to me ;) I'm trying to use the right a mount of pedal and finger staccato to get the sonority right in places. Will see if I succeed. There are some parts thoguh that the guitar plays much higher sounds and yet Falla hasn't put them an octave higher in the piano, though it is perfectly feasible to do so. ...hmmmm

Wonderful playing, and I loved how happy you looked when playing them! I’ve really enjoyed the Spanish piano pieces have come across, as I am also learning the language so trying to immerse myself in all things Spanish. ;) (I’m finding Albeniz a little tricky just now though...) I had come across Valses poeticos no 5 and 6 in a book so am looking at trying them next. Lovely to hear the whole suite together. I’m going to order the complete score today. Bien Hecho! la musica muy Hermosa.  ;D

Sounds amazing!

Where did you record this? It’s very hard to get a natural recorded piano tone like that....
