Hi there

My first Forum Post, so please excuse me if I'm not familiar with everything.
This is a performance I did for a recital of Chopin's Ocean Etude. I endeavoured to pursue this Etude after first-hand experience against the real life Pacific Ocean, pulled away with another life in your hands, and feeling powerless against it, until strength and courage led me back to shore. To respect it's power and to usher in it's nature

Not to be a sob story  ;D

Being self-taught, I never knew what's right and wrong when playing. All I know is what to put in, what I feel and what it all means in the end. So here I am asking for comments and guidance as to how to improve. Any advice, comments, tips, especially criticism is more than welcome, will personally thank you. I also cannot read sheet music, and played this by ear, one you realise the simple underlying structure beneath this Etude in particular, you start to realise how everything complex is built upon simplicity.

Any suggestions as to where to go from now is much much appreciated. I don't think I can be the best of the best, having started very late, at the age of 15, being 18 now. In addition to this, I really want to learn the Aeolian Harp Etude as well as Winter Wind, but I would like your suggestion beforehand.

In addition to this, I have Rachmaninov/ff's Prelude in G Minor in my repertoire, if you would like to hear it, I really would like to play Rach 2 someday, but I know I am not at that stage as of yet, to attempt a monumental leap to it. But if you can suggest to me a pathway I can work towards that magnum opus of Rachmaninov/ff's, I would be forever grateful.

Thank you for listening, excuse me for the name, as I am of mixed descent. Part of me is Russian, part of me is Fijian-Indian as well. Sorry if it confuses you.

Best wishes, take care.

3 years? Incredible progress! Good playing and seriously, don't apologize or excuse yourself because your name is a bit weird. Take pride in it.  ;)

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words! It is hard to do so, especially while trying to help others pronounce a multi-lingual and probably difficult name :-X And the remark about progress, I appreciate it so much  :) Encourages me to keep going on!
