I really enjoyed learning and playing this late Liszt masterpiece........... I've played it for encore quite a bit over the years.....

Thanks for posting this sensitive interpretation. It is interesting how Liszt appears to have been fascinated by funerals and hearses, which he evidently associated with tremolos and augmented chords. Wasn't the sixth transcendental study an impression of Napoleon's funeral ? Similar sort of atmosphere as this piece. Maybe I'm wrong, can't recall where I read that. Well played in any case.
