or as I refer to this one, "Nier de Jazz" lol  :D
fun piece, tough bugger to memorize though, but satisfying to work on and play, I might have a performance of at a get together/music shindig soon, remarks in video description on YT video launch/home page.
Thanks for taking time to watch :-)

Hi Visitor
Once again, wonderful performance of an unfamiliar piece..,, but which I really enjoyed. Thanks for posting 😊

I can see why this would be quite difficult to memorize.   Out of curiosity, do you memorize everything that you perform?

sincerest thanks for your response dogperson. I would love to memorize everything I perform and given enough time that is usually the goal,  especially for those works I am more than casually learning , sometimes its more practical for longer ones like this [this is the short side of long but would have problematic page turns etc], there are times that if not explictly required and if I'm backed into a corner time crunch wise I'll use music , but overall I feel I learn the piece better w memory , performance wise I find I am more consistently able to direct my ear and the sound I want without having to dedicate mental energy to the page in front of me

there was a studio in school that I was not in [would love to have been but my track wasnt the one required of students w that teacher], the professor requires all. music to.be memorized by first piano lesson, if it wasnt she cancelled or stopped the lesson and sent you out to go practice,  she could be that picky her students went on to won all sorts of competitions and entry in prestigious programs festivals etc, among other notables she studied w she was a student of Emil Gilels..., but she was a very cool lady and I always had great feedback compliments and areas to improve on my jury sheets when she sat in on them for exams and recital hearing :-)

Some cool funky stuff! As "classical" pianists (which most of us on this forum are primarily), we don't pay enough attention to this sort of slightly different music :(

I've never heard of this , and I still dont quite known what it is exactly,  but I love it!! haha sorta sums up exactly how I felt when I first got the score and started reading through it
lots fun stuff out there that still presents for opportunity to challenge , express , and still be enjoyable for audience ,  am looking forward to more jazzy nd funky stuff in the future for sure!!
